Danny is the sole Director and Shareholder of Devon Construction.
Danny moved to New Zealand from Devon, England (hence the name!) with his family in 2003 having spent many years in the construction industry in the U.K. Danny's first job in NZ was as Contracts Manager with Laser Electrical which provided him with a solid overview of the construction industry here and helped him forge relationships with many of the industry's key players.
In 2004 Danny became Contracts Manager with Norton Homes in Christchurch and soon assumed the role of General Manager. During his time with Norton Homes, Danny successfully managed the construction of multiple homes including several multi-property developments.
Danny formed Devon Construction in 2008, since its inception Devon Construction has grown into a highly-respected construction company within Canterbury.
Danny has over 25 years' experience in site and construction management. During these years, he has learned a diverse range of management skills through dealing with local authorities; liaising with government housing officials; adopting a strong customer service focus; and ensuring contracts are delivered on time and budget in a professional manner.
Next to our residential builds Devon Construction has become a leader in multi-unit development.
Danny was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the Canterbury Branch of the Registered Master Builders.
Patrice joined Devon Construction in April 2015 and took up the role of Accounts Payable Clerk & Receptionist.
During this time Patrice has gained experience and understanding on everything involved in completing a build process.
Now in 2018 she has expanded her skills to our new Project Coordinator, she is very passionate about what she does and takes pride in being a part of Devon’s experienced team. She’s looking forward to her new position and supporting clients throughout their building process and most importantly seeing a satisfied and happy customer on the completion of their new home.

Judith is our Office Manager
She joined the company in July 2013 having been involved in Financial roles in the building industry for over 10 years. In August 2018 we celebrated her 5-year anniversary with Devon Construction Ltd.
Judith’s role of Office Manger encompasses oversight of Finance and Accounts, Payroll, and general office management.
In the time, she has been with Devon she has seen it go from a company building 12 houses a year to around 50 dwellings, including multi-block complexes and renovations and from 3 staff to 20.
She believes Devon’s success is due to a bespoke approach treating each client with respect and individuality and says she is impressed by the number of repeat clients who enjoyed their time building with Devon and come back for more.
Building runs in the family as her partner and eldest son are both builders.
Mark van Valkenburg
As my name (and accent) will tell you I’m originally from the Netherlands. After a 17-year career in ITC, working as Project Manager for a global company I started working for Devon Construction Ltd in June 2017.
My main task is developing and maintaining the Devon Build Program (Build Schedules), ITC troubleshooting, Media, Client Relationship Management, improvement and innovations within our business processes.
This is a very welcome and ever-changing challenge as the construction business is very dynamic
As we hold the health and safety and wellbeing of our employees in high regards I’ve also been given the task as Health & Safety Officer. Health & Safety is not new to me as In the Netherlands I was a fully Qualified Emergency Response Officer (Fire Safety Officer + First Aid + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
In my spare time you can find me on my mountain bike, skis or playing on my Xbox. (Geek 😊)
Having been a self-employed builder for the past 20 years, Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Devon Construction Team as a Project Manager. Jeremy has contracted to Devon Construction for the past 5 years so knows the business and clientele extremely well and prides himself on his problem-solving ability. In his spare time, Jeremy is currently building his dream home whilst racing around after 2 small children!
Devon Construction Site Managers
Devon Construction has a team of LBP (licenced Build Practitioner) qualified site managers.
Peter Gibson, Blake Hugh, Ben Sinclair and Brent Lamb are responsible for the oversite of the build process, the build team (site safety, training and daily business) and build site cleanness.
All our Site Managers are fully licenced LBP’s and seize every opportunity to expand their knowledge and share it with the Build Teams
